A clockwork toy from the V&A Museum of Childhood
in Bethnal Green, London
The V&A Museum of Childhood has lots of objects relating to children's play. We send a group of Year 6 pupils to find out more and asked them to chose one object that they really liked to investigate further.
Clockwork toys may not be as popular with children now as they were in the 1960s but their movement still fascinates. Watch the films and find out how they work here, then take the toy apart and put it back together in our interactive activity.
